Adjustment is a composition written for solo unaccompanied cello that focuses on shifting the perspective of the audience. The individual cello reflects the individual listener, as the piece moves into unfamiliar territory, they are confronted with having to process a rough and turbulent reality with which they are not familiar. The point the audience is pushed furthest signals a return to form, albeit in an entirely new context. This adjustment is the essence of the work.
