Electric Rendezvous (2018)

Electric Rendezvous, a composition for mixed chamber ensemble, reflects the influences from Stan Bicknell, Steve Reich, and Jonathan Scales on myself. Aside from Steve Reich, these musicians are not associated with classical music, which gave the composition a very unusual sound. Prehaps the most distinctive quality of this piece is the use of odd meter and complex rhythms that can confuse the listener’s expectations. The title pays homage to “Electro Legs”, a composition by Stan Bicknell which utilizes many of the same musical devices found within Electric Rendezvous.
